The Pathway to Intelligent Behavior-Presentation by Dr. Bill Keilty

YOU ARE INVITED:
TO A PRESENTATION FOR PARENTS, TEACHERS, AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES

Tuesday, February 8th
at the RJE Middle School Library
6-8 PM

Bill Keilty, Ed.D

The Pathway to Intelligent Behavior

The Habits of Mind are a collection of 16 thinking dispositions identified by Dr. Art Costa. Costa defined the Habits of Mind as the dispositions skillfully and mindfully displayed by characteristically intelligent people when confronted with problems the solution to which are not immediately apparent.
We hear a lot about preparing students for the 21st Century. The Habits of Mind are the intellectual characteristics of effective, self-directed learners and creative problem solvers. Join us as Dr. Kielty provides us with a deeper understanding of their application to daily life and how they apply to gifted children.

Bill Keilty, Ed.D., is currently the Coordinator of the Lighthouse Program in the Spring Lake Park Schools, Spring Lake Park, MN. He developed and provides leadership for this innovative school program that has received national attention
Bill has been an advocate for gifted children for the past 32 years. He teaches graduate course work for Hamline University's Gifted Certificate Program. Bill is currently on the MN Department of Education's Gifted and Talented Advisory Council and is legislative liaison for the Minnesota Educators of the Gifted and Talented, a state-wide advocacy group. He is currently the Minnesota Liaison for the Center for Talented Development at Northwestern University in Evanston.
